Bentley is a family name and design, it seems, runs in Pete’s blood, with his great grandfather being proprietor of a coachworks and vehicle manufacturer in West Germany. Pete upholds the values of generations before him and still uses some of his grandfather's coffin making tools, which carry with them a sense of longevity and authenticity that is hard to come by in todays world of mass production.

Pete’s journey as a cabinet maker began with a solid foundation in design. Upon leaving school, inspired by his Design & Technology teacher, himself a furniture designer, Pete studied 3D design at Buckinghamshire New University, based in High Wycombe. This town, with its rich history in furniture manufacture through out the mid century design boom, provided him with the inspiration to delve deeper into the world of furniture.

After cutting his teeth, Pete pursued a degree in industrial design at Bournemouth University. This academic path allowed him to blend artistic creativity with practical functionality, a combination that would become a strong ethos behind his work.

Upon leaving education, Pete's professional career began on Lots Road, Chelsea, another hub of British furniture design. Here, he worked designing furniture pieces for private members clubs and luxurious residential projects where attention to detail and a keen eye for design were paramount.

But it was in the tranquil villages of the Cotswolds that Pete found his calling. It was here that Pete immersed himself in the world of cabinetry, working as lead designer in a firm manufacturing high-end bespoke kitchens and fitted furniture, refining his skills and developing a deep appreciation for the artistry behind handcrafted cabinetry.
